What a privilege to be able to spend time with Katie and her family.
We met on a Sunday morning in Priory Park in Reigate, Surrey.
As with all family photoshoots I spent the first half an hour or so chatting and getting to know the family over a cup of tea. I always think its important to spend time with the children to get them to relax before getting the camera out (although now a days children are so relaxed around camera’s its the adults that need the coaxing!!)
Needless to say I didn’t even need ten minutes before Reuben and Jasper were running around and showing me their best poses for the camera. Reuben had a few modelling suggestions of his own (hence the tree hugging) which actually turned out to be some of the best shots of the morning.
I always start a family shoot trying to simply document a families time together and capture the connection they have; however you also have to learn to play it be ear and go with what they want to do…… Today was all about showing me their collection of sticks and loving nature. What better way to spend a lovely morning in Reigate.
