Getting to know you (getting to know all about you)…..

Due to covid restrictions I hadn’t had a chance to meet Rebecca and Rosie in person before their wedding which is never ideal, as I always like to go to the venue with a couple to get to know them and share ideas. However, with these beautiful brides it didn’t really matter, they were so in love exuding smiles all day long which made my job extremely easy.

The Venue

Overlooking the beautiful Danson Park, Danson House is a stunning Grade I listed Palladian villa and is the official Register Office for the London Borough of Bexley. Designed by Sir Robert Taylor, the architect of the Bank of England, built in 1766, Danson house is set in more than 200 acres of magnificent parkland overlooking the sparkling Danson Lake.

Their wedding was understated and classy with nods towards their celebrated love throughout. From Rosie’s rainbow colored braces to the bespoke colored masks which mimicked the pride flag, the little touching details truly made it a day to remember.

The ceremony was held in the Salon which is a gorgeous octagonal room with sumptuous wall coverings and vivid stylish decoration. Tiny flecks of silk and flakes of paint discovered on the walls by the English Heritage experts enabled them to recreate the Georgian wall paper that was once there added to the romance of it all. It made for a spectacular space to say “I do”

The Celebrations Continue

Following the ceremony we took some shots on the stunning steps of Danson House with their family and friends before strolling over to the ornamental gardens opposite. I love this time with a couple its so intimate and relaxed following the heightened energy of the ceremony.  Rebecca and Rosie really are the epitome of love and they reminded me why I love my job as a wedding photographer.

Amongst the wisteria with Danson House as a backdrop we were able to capture some beautiful memories. You can really feel the personality of the couple pouring out of the photos. I am really proud when photos are true to the personality of the couple and we managed this in abundance.

The celebrations continued with a picnic in the grounds next to the House, with their beautiful family and friends. I felt so welcome (so much so that I nearly dropped off my camera at home to joined them for a beer!!!) and laughed so much my cheeks hurt!

What a Couple

Rebecca and Rosie, It really was a celebration to remember with memories that will last a lifetime. It was a pleasure to capture those memories and I always love a wedding when I forget I’m supposed to be “working”
